Program Description

Welcome to Canadian Agriculture! An Overview of Pathways to Canadian Agriculture Careers
This eLearning training course, created by the Canadian Agricultural Human Resource Council (CAHRC), is a helpful tool for newcomers to Canada to introduce a variety of exciting career pathways in the agricultural industry.
The online training is very flexible and can be completed according to each participant’s schedule, and should not take more than 12 hours to complete.
The program content, highlights the exciting opportunities in agriculture, reviews commodities and the corresponding job opportunities that can offer exhilarating career paths. 

Participants will be able to review job profiles; which will go over various careers and how they align with the industry, 360-degree farm tours; that will provide a look at on-site farming, and infographics specific to each commodity. This will provide an inside view on what a career in each commodity could look like and will call attention to endless opportunities to make a positive impact when a career in agriculture is pursued. The program highlights that working in agriculture includes careers on the farm and careers linked to farming. These include careers in communications, food and animal science, marketing, business, sales and more!
Please note that the training will be offered in both English and French, and videos with English content will have French subtitles.
With this program, CAHRC hopes to bring awareness of the industry to newcomers in Canada looking to make a difference. The agricultural industry in Canada is facing a significant shortage, which means there is an abundance of career opportunities waiting. Participants who take part in this program will get to explore possible career paths, and improve their job readiness when they decide to pursue a job in the industry.

Grain Farming in Canada

Focuses on the significance of grain farming, showcasing its practices and opportunities through informative graphics, a detailed video, and a virtual farm tour.

Beef Farming in Canada

Explores the beef farming sector with visual aids and a video, alongside job profiles and a virtual tour of a beef farm.

Pork Farming in Canada

Delves into pork production techniques, job opportunities, and a virtual pork farm tour to give a comprehensive understanding of the industry.

Dairy Farming in Canada

Highlights dairy farming through educational infographics, a video, job profiles, and a virtual dairy farm tour.

Chicken & Broiler Farming in Canada

Offers insights into chicken and broiler farming with engaging content, job profiles, and a tour of a chicken & broiler farm.
